This week on The Biggest Loser, the final two contestants, along with the two in which America is voting for, were revealed. Much to many fans delight,
the resident whiner of the season Gina McDonald was eliminated. But in her post elimination interview, Gina hinted that she feels she was misunderstood this season.
Yeah, we all had enough of Gina McDonald’s whining and complaining by the second week into the season. And while irritated fans watched her all season moan and groan, Gina McDonald hinted that she was misunderstood by viewers. How so? Check out her post elimination interview below!
Gina McDonald on being eliminated so close to the finale:
It wasn’t a shock or disappointment…not really. I needed to be exactly where it was meant for me to be. I am not disappointed in myself at all. In fact, I am very proud of myself and how far I have come.
On what she sees now when she looks in the mirror:
It’s amazing. Bob said to me early on in the season, that he wished I could see what he saw in me. I finally see it. I see strength, courage, pride, and I am not fearful anymore. I can see it now…I can see it all now.
What it was like watching herself back on television, and how viewers perceived her:
It was hard – especially week 8, it was hard for me to watch me. I cried the entire episode. I have terrible memories of the pain I went through. But, I’ve come out in a much better place, and it if it wasn’t for that pain, I would not be where I am today.
I’m a pretty feisty chic. I’ve always been a pretty aggressive woman, and wanted to do well as a woman. I think that was misplaced a little bit on the show. I started the show being myself and opening up and letting America see all the emotions. What America really needed to see was my heart. I let them see everything else, the anger, the fear, the frustration. They got best chance to see my heart last night.
The first thing Gina did when she got home, and how her workouts are going now:
I didn’t get home until midnight. I went home and I went to bed. I was exhausted. The next day, I got up and went to Planet Fitness. I’m not leading the workouts, I am being led by a man named Carter Hayes, who trained season 11′s Hannah. I’ve really been up here training in Nashville. I have nothing but support, and the support and love I have felt is amazing.
Gina McDonald on her friend Matt, who we saw on makeover week:
He’s actually down 20 pounds. I just got a message from him today that he wants to audition next season for The Biggest Loser. I’m going to encourage and help him as much as I possibly can.
Gina was also asked about her current weight, but she would not elaborate, and told us that we would just have to wait until Monday to find out.
