Dancing With The Stars co-host, Brooke Burke-Charvet is a picture of health these days despite the fact she recently had a cancer scare and underwent a thyroidectomy. And now, she’s sharing some of her diet and fitness tips so you too can be healthier. Keep reading to see what she had to say.
According to the Examiner, Burke-Charvet said she attributes her good health to a proper diet and regular exercise. And that’s been her routine for a long time. As a former bikini model, she was already a fitness fanatic who exercised daily prior to her cancer scare. But eating a proper diet and getting some exercise in after resting up following her surgery has really helped her bounce back.
So what are some of Burke-Charvet’s diet and fitness tips? She said she eats a Mediterranean diet consisting of “lots of greens, lots of fish, [and] lots of vegetables.” But in the end it’s not just about what you eat, it’s more about portion control.
And when it comes to the biggest meal, she says that comes at lunchtime. She said she loves sushi, so that’s a typical meal for her, or she may choose to go with a huge salad with plenty of mixed greens, vegetables, and a nice sized portion of fish.
And when it comes to fitness, Burke-Charvet says, “I want to be my best healthy self.” Explaining it’s important to make yourself a priority and in order to do so, you must make the commitment, write down your goals, and make a plan. She prefers to get her workouts done early on in the day, especially after she drops the kids off for school. Early morning workouts give her the energy and adrenaline to get through the day. Plus it’s a great antidepressant and helps avoid procrastination.
