Dancing With The Stars co-host, Brooke Burke-Charvet is looking at life from a different perspective following her recent cancer scare. But she’s not wishing for days gone by, instead, she’s enjoying where she’s at in her life saying her 40’s are a reality check and that she doesn’t want to look 25-years-old anymore; it’s time to embrace Mother Nature a little. Keep reading for more details.
Burke-Charvet was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year. In December, she underwent a successful thyroidectomy. And since then she has been given a clean bill of health. She sings the praises of routine physicals and early detection, which is how she initially received her diagnosis. She says, “[It’s] a pretty important message for everyone to just be responsible enough to get regular checkups, to take care of your health, to be a good patient and follow up.”
According to People, Burke-Charvet says her overall health is what’s most important. And while she admits she’d like to be able to slow down the aging process, she thinks it is simply unnatural to look decades younger than you really are. Plus she says, “I don’t want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen!”
Instead, she said she would rather trust and embrace Mother Nature. As a woman, wife, and mother of four, Burke-Charvet says her main objective is not to look 25-years-old anymore but rather to be healthy and the best she possibly can be at every stage in her life.
What do you think of Burke-Charvet’s outlook on life? Do you agree with her that you have to embrace where you are in life and be as happy and healthy as you can be? Or do you think you should chase your youth as long as you can? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
