More drama for Kim Zolciak! After being evicted by her former friend/landlord, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum is now being sued by her one time BFF, Kandi Burruss, over royalties that Kandi says she never received for the song she wrote and produced for Zolciak, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party.”
Well this is a surprise! Four years after the release of her hit single, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party,” Kim Zolciak is being sued by her former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mate and friend, Kandi Burruss.
During the Season 3 reunion show, a tearful Burruss complained that at the time, Zolciak had made at least $80,000-$100,000 for the song that she wrote and produced. Of that, Kandi was only paid $3,000 or $4,000…well under the amount that she was due.
Burruss said that she didn’t like to argue with friends about money, but now it seems that she’s ready for an all out fight…in court that is. And her lawyer? None other than Mrs. Phaedra Parks!
The suit was filed on Tuesday, March 12th, which we’re sure made for some awkward (read: juicy) moments during the Season 5 reunion show that was taped the next day!
And we’re positive that’s not the only issue between the ladies that Bravo boss Andy Cohen will bring up. In addition to her royalties, Kandi claims that Kim also stole her baby name when she and hubby Kroy Bierman named their second son, Kash.
Kandi may not be looking forward to the reunion special, but we sure are!
Tell us RTVM, are you Team Kandi or Team Kim on this one? Should Kim fork over the money for “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party,” or do you think Kandi waited too long to file the lawsuit? Sound off in the Comments section below.
