On Thursday night’s episode of Project Runway, we bid farewell to Amanda Valentine, 31, from Nashville, TN when her tear-away dance costume failed to bring the thunder. Keep reading to see what Amanda had to say about her time on the show and being eliminated from the competition.
According to Lifetime, Amanda admitted that she was slightly uncomfortable working in teams. In fact, from day one when she found out this season would be the first ever teams edition, she thought about turning around and leaving. She said she wasn’t really a team player and compared herself to the lone ranger instead.
She explained saying she really doesn’t know how to compromise but throughout the competition was able to get comfortable just filling in the cracks. She did whatever job needed to be done whether it was managing the money at Mood or writing out a grid to organize who was responsible for doing what for each look.
And while she says she was happy to contribute to that role, the problem with her filling in the cracks was that she allowed herself to get lost behind team members who were louder and/or more opinionated. So she ended up not standing out like a rock star during the challenges but looked more like the roadie instead. “But the rock star wouldn’t be there without the roadie,” she said.
In the end, Amanda said she regrets not giving it her all and just going for it. “I think I did not get my personal aesthetic and point of view across clearly at all and I am trying to just to be okay with it,” she said. “You always want another chance but I had a good run…What a long strange trip it’s been.”
What did you think about Amanda being sent home? What did you find more hideous, Amanda’s pants or Richard’s shirts? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
