There’s been plenty of buzz since Dancing with the Stars premiered on Monday. And a whole lot of it is centered on Zendaya, the youngest contestant to appear on the show. Zendaya’s fellow contestants are particularly impressed…and perhaps a little worried.
She may be the youngest contestant on the show at just 16 years of age, but that’s not the only thing setting Disney star Zendaya Coleman apart from the other DWTS contestants. Zendaya also happens to be an incredibly talented dancer, as she proved during Monday night’s contemporary performance. Fans are excited about Zendaya’s beautiful dancing and the other contestants on the show are just as impressed.
Dorothy Hamill in particular found Zendaya’s performance inspiring. While the maturity of the dance was impressive for a 16-year-old, Dorothy believes that it would have been an amazing performance regardless of age. The Olympic skater told People, “Doesn’t matter if she’s 16 or 12 or 100. It was just beautiful.”
New pro Lindsay Arnold isn’t that much older than Zendaya, but she also believes that the Disney star is a force to be reckoned with. Lindsay gushed, “[Zendaya's] such a great dancer. She has great lines…I think she’s going to do really well.”
Despite all the praise, Zendaya is doing a remarkable job of keeping a level head. She says she’s been working really hard to translate her hip hop moves into a different style. And she hopes to continue improving. Based on what we saw Monday night, we’re sure Zendaya will be leaving us in awe again and again!
