Often, contestants on Dancing with the Stars find that there’s a bit of an adjustment period. If they can make it through the first week or two without getting booted, the process of learning and performing new dance styles gets a lot easier. Such is the case for Kellie Pickler, who impressed in week two with a great contemporary jazz number.
Between a huge fan base and a spot at the top of the leader board, it looks like Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough may have what it takes to win season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. While she looked very confident out on the dance floor this week, Kellie said that it took a lot of work to get past her dancing nerves.
You’d never guess it, but Kellie was really nervous about performing last week. Fortunately, she was able to relax a bit once she’d gotten the first performance out of the way. During a recent interview with On the Red Carpet, the country singer confessed, “I definitely feel more comfortable this week. Last week was the first show…so overwhelming. I’m still running on adrenaline.”
Derek is impressed with Kellie’s progress thus far and feels that the singer is capable of even more. “I’ve already played around with a few moves that are more daring…I’m going to keep it in my back pocket for later.” So, assuming Kellie and Derek aren’t voted off (and how tragic would it be if that happened?!), viewers can expect some exciting choreography in the near future.
