Celebrity Apprentice Profile: Dennis Rodman

NBA Hall of Fame player Dennis Rodman has joined the ranks of the 13th season of Celebrity Apprentice. Donald Trump’s hit NBC reality TV series features an all-star cast this time around as the celebrities are all vying to win money for their charities. There has been a lot of drama on the show, but Rodman has done his best to concentrate on the task he is given and not on the bickering happening around him. The remaining 2013 cast of celebrities include Brande Roderick, Lisa Rinna, Stephen Baldwin, Rodman, Penn Jillette, Gary Busey, Lil Jon, Trace Adkins, Marilu Henner, and Omasosa Manigault. Trump’s boardroom advisors are his children: Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump along with the 2012 Celebrity Apprentice winner, Arsenio Hall; the 2011 winner, John Rich; the 2008 winner, Piers Morgan; and the 2009 winner, Joan Rivers.

In 2000, Rodman made the decision to retire from basketball. In 2011, he was inducted into the NBC Hall of Fame and the Detroit Pistons retired his number, #10. During his career, he played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. In his early years before becoming a power forward he was a small forward. He was voted NBA Defensive Player of the Year twice and earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors seven times. He also led the NBA in rebounds per game for a record seven consecutive years and won five NBA Championships.

Outside of basketball, Rodman is a part-time professional wrestler and a restaurateur. He had his own TV show, The Rodman World Tour. He also starred in the action films Simon Sez and Double Team with Jean-Claude Van Damme.

A long-time vegetarian, Rodman became the first man and first sports star to pose for PETA’s “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign in 2005.

While competing on Celebrity Apprentice, Rodman is wining money for the charity organization, Make-A-Wish.
