On Thursday night’s episode of Project Runway, Richard was eliminated from the competition when his ready to wear design failed to impress the judges. Take the jump to see what Richard had to say about being eliminated.
According to Lifetime, Richard said it hurt to be eliminated from the competition especially since he was so close to being able to show a collection during fashion week.
But this week’s challenge just got the best of him. He admitted that he had a weird feeling the first day of the challenge and said he knew this was probably going to be a breaking point for him. And while he tried his hardest during the challenge, he simply couldn’t relate to Patricia and some of the ideas she had.
But when all was said and done, he didn’t blame Patricia for his downfall during the challenge. Instead, he believes he sabotaged himself by attempting a design that he wasn’t comfortable doing. “It was a constant struggle from the beginning,” he said, “because I questioned why I chose that fabric.” And when it was time to hit the runway, he felt his garment reflected nothing about who he is as a designer. As a result, he paid the ultimate price for it, which was elimination from the competition.
Although he felt like he let himself down by not being more creative during the challenge, looking back at the competition as a whole, he said, “I did alright.”
What do you think of what Richard had to say about being eliminated from the competition? Do you think the judges made the right decision in sending him home? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it so sound off in the comments and let us know.
