Yes, Lindsay Lohan says she’ll go to rehab — assuming there’s actually a rehabilitation facility that will take her in existence. But the Punk’d alum says she will only stay in a locked rehab center if she’s allowed to continue taking Adderall. Could this be a deal-breaker for the rehabilitation plan?
Lindsay Lohan’s plea deal includes spending 90 days in locked rehab, a move that her lawyer hopes will allow a “sweet, wonderful 26-year-old girl has finally been able to bring some closure to a chapter in her life that has been very unfortunate.” But what if Lindsay isn’t able to get into a drug rehabilitation facility that has been approved by the court? This is already proving to be a bit of an issue, for it appears that many rehab centers are not willing to take on such a high-maintenance client.
Now, adding to the bag of problems involved in finding a rehab facility, Lindsay is insisting that she be allowed to take Adderall while she’s in treatment. The star is diagnosed with ADHD (a diagnosis that some have called into question) and has used the drug in the past both for treatment and, as some suspect, a vehicle for substance abuse. The fact that Lindsay has insisted on her desperate need to have the drug has convinced many that she is, in fact, still addicted to it and may not be using the substance as intended by the professional responsible for her initial diagnosis. This speculation seems all the more pertinent when you consider the fact that Lindsay was willing to go to trial if she wasn’t allowed to take the medication while in rehab.
Let’s hope Lindsay isn’t suffering from an addiction to Adderall, because that’s just one more issue on what has become a really long list for the troubled celeb.
