American Idol Results Recap: The Girl Power Continues

April 04, 2013 06:01 PM by Lisa Princ

Last night on American Idol, the top seven gave us their take on Classic Rock songs. Okay, we’re still trying to figure out how some of the tunes performed are Classic Rock, but whatever. Tonight, one of these talented artists will get the boot, could it be your favorite? We sure hope you all voted…

American Idol kicked off the results show tonight with a performance of Somebody to Love by the top seven. It’s okay, but we’re more excited to learn that Carrie Underwood will be performing tonight – definitely a treat!

Cue to the Ford video…yawn. Yay, it’s Jimmy Iovine – no, really, we’re just thankful the Ford nonsense is over. Iovine happens to feel that most of the contestants chose the wrong songs last night. He predicts Burnell in the bottom two, after his disastrous rendition of You Give Love A Bad Name. And he is certain that if “America got it right,” Lazaro will be getting the boot.

Season 9′s Casey James hit the stage next with his new tune, The Good Life, and with the lack of male contestants left, the eye candy was a nice treat for the lady viewers. Oh yeah, the song was rocking too!

The judges revealed their top three choices for the week, and they’re all almost in agreement with Kree, Angie, and Amber – except for Mariah, who decided to add Candice to the mix.

And the actual top three are: Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, and Lazaro Arbos! Guess Jimmy was wrong, huh? Perhaps we were all in for a shocker tonight?

Best part of the show – Carrie Underwood’s performance of I’ll See You Again. Wow. What an inspirational and beautiful song that so many of us can relate to.

Back to the results. Candice Glover is safe, as well as Amber Holcomb. Ugh, why did Ryan Seacrest ask Nicki Minaj for her opinion. Someone get the duct tape please! Final results – Janelle Arthur is safe.

Burnell Taylor has to sing for his life! He chooses Ready for Love, and Mariah can’t even watch the performance, the tears are falling. Will the judges save him?

No, they reveal that they will not use the save, Burnell Taylor is going home! Best of luck Burnell, we will miss you!

Did America get it right tonight? Who do you want to win this season of American Idol? Is this finally the year we will see a female winner? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it! Comment below to share your thoughts with us.

No. Lazaro Arbos should have been gone 3 weeks ago. No vocal range, can’t remember lyrics. What do those voting see in him?

I think if America is truly voting for Lazoro and Fox isn’t rigging the results for ratings that the reason is people relate to him. Think of all the silent suffers of ridicule and bullying which is way more prevalent now a days because of the social media. And kids ridicule for way less things than stuttering so it’s no wonder people want to see him have a chance to do well. He can actually sing and think about how hard it is for him to have the confidence to get up there.

This isnt a fell sorry party it is a competition for the best singer. Lazoro, I like him but he not a better singer than anyother one thats left in the show. Lazoro, not ready yet please send him home.

Having been in the music business for twenty plus years in a prior life, I learned how to recognize “star” potential. There are some really talented contestants this season, but Kree Harrison is head and shoulders above the rest. Her poise on stage and that amazing voice puts her in place all by herself.

I agree that Lazaro should have gone weeks ago. How many really good people are going to go home while Lazaro who is the worst singer and surely has a mental handicap – there is more than just a stutter wrong with him (he can’t even remember more than one song) keeps getting voted in. It is an absolute joke that Lazaro even got into the final 10 let alone is still there.

I agree with Ms. Sykes!!! Lazaro should have been gone weeks ago. I get the sympathy vote thing, but come on!! He REALLY can’t sing! And a few years ago, forgetting lyrics at this stage of the competition would definately be a deal breaker!! Wake up voters!!

but Lazaro cannot sing. He can’t remember s*** and should of been kicked off 2 weeks ago. People really have bad taste and if this continues, they will loose 2 more supporters of the show. Talk about taking down the ratings….. This show is starting to really suck. I hope they take it back out of the America’s hands and give it back to the judges.

It is almost cruel to keep Laz (or any disabled person) in the spotlight mainly because people feel sorry for them. If he was a truly good singer, he deserves a chance. But, he is not a very good singer and he is not getting better with experience.

I have watched this show every season it’s been on. However tonight WILL be my last night. I can not tolerate looking or listening to Nikki’s voice any more. She is unprofesional with her face making and rolling her eyes, not to mention her comments! Fox I’m really surprised you all have kept her this long. This show is just been to good with great judges to have her spoil it. I just don’t think she was cut out to do this kind a thing. I feel for the contestants and other judges who have to tolerate her!
