A sequel to the hit film Finding Nemo? You better believe it! A decade after its initial release, the Pixar movie will finally see its first sequel. And featured in the followup will be none other than fan favorite Dory — voiced by former American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres!
Fans of Finding Nemo will be excited to learn that Pixar has announced the production of a sequel. Dubbed Finding Dory, the film will focus on Nemo’s lovable but absentminded sidekick, played by the lovely Ellen DeGeneres!
Of course, nearly excited about the development as her devoted legion of fans was the comedian herself. Her response to the big news? “I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it.”
Ellen adds that she’s very pleased with the script, especially as it has a whole lot more Dory than the original Finding Nemo. The premise of the film is that, following her adventures with Nemo, Dory will take her own journey to meet up with loved ones. And obviously, her forgetful nature will make for some very interesting scenarios. Although Nemo and his dad will be featured in this new film, there will also be several new characters introduced along the way.
Finding Dory is slated for release on November 25, 2015. It’s a long wait, but as Ellen said, it’ll be worth it!
