Was there ever really any question as to whether MTV would continue airing the hit show Buckwild after star Shain Gandee tragically died of carbon monoxide poisoning? Well, anyone hoping for the show’s continuation will be bitterly disappointed — it appears that MTV has decided to put an end to the show.
A little over a week ago, we learned of the tragic death of Buckwild star Shain Gandee. A later autopsy revealed that the reality star had indeed died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The official report explained, “The manner of death is accidental and the cause was carbon monoxide poisoning.”
Following an outpouring of grief among fans of the show as well as friends and family members of the reality star, many were wondering whether Buckwild would continue. right after news of Shain’s death, the show halted production, but its creators were not sure at first whether they would end the series for good or simply take a break.
According to one insider, fans will have to learn to get along without their favorite television series. Buckwild producers do not think it will be feasible to continue to put out episodes that are respectful to Shain’s memory. The source explained to The Hollywood Reporter, “Internal conversations were had on the day of Gandee’s death about potentially ‘softening’ the show, which has focused on such behavior as off-roading, tire roll-downs and hard partying. But doing so likely would prove incongruous with the show’s brand — and potentially turn off viewers in the process.”
Do you think it would be possible to continue Buckwild following the death of one of its cast members? Leave a comment and let us know!
