For over a decade now, Carson Daly has been entertaining late night viewers with interviews and musical performances on Last Call With Carson Daly. And it looks like the popular TV host will be enjoying at least one more year at NBC, for the network recently announced that it has officially renewed the show for another season.
Fans of Last Call are likely awash in relief today, for many worried that NBC would decide to replace Carson Daly with Alec Baldwin. There is still some potential for this to happen at some point in the future, but if it does, it won’t be for at least one more year.
But based on the enthusiastic words of Paul Telegdy — NBC’s president of late night programming — there was no question as to whether Carson is able to offer something valuable to late night television. In a statement recently released by NBC, Telegdy explained, “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Carson who has broken the mold…The show has become a platform for emerging artists – and Carson’s engaging interview style has made it the place for insightful conversations with an eclectic group of new stars as well as established icons and news makers.”
