Idol Producers Hope To See Candice Glover & Amber Holcomb Go Head-To-Head In The Finale

April 12, 2013 02:00 PM by Donna W. Martin

On Thursday night’s American Idol results show, we bid a fond farewell to Lazaro Arbos leaving an all female top five. So who is going to make it to the finale? While we can’t be certain who will duke it out for the title, rumor has it Idol producers know who they’d like to see in the finale and that’s Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb. Take the jump for more details.

According to Hollywood Life, a source, who chose to remain anonymous, said Idol producers had an ulterior motive when they paired Glover and Holcomb together during Thursday night’s results show group performance. And that was so America could see them sing together and possibly get the hint that these two were their pick for the finale. “There was a reason they put Candice and Amber together on the show Thursday, because they want to show America that these are the two they want in the finale,” the source said.

In fact, “The producers are doing everything they can in their power to get a finale that consists of Amber and Candice,” the source said, “They want to change the Idol mold that has consisted of a white guy winning, so nothing would be better in their eyes than to have two African American women in the finale.”

Now wait a minute…Since the American people vote to decide who stays in the competition and who goes home; that leaves producers with only one thing in their power…song choice, right? So if they are going to do ‘everything they can in their power’ to ensure Candice and Amber make it to the finale, does that mean they will make poor song choices for Kree, Angie, and Janelle so they won’t perform as well? We can’t be certain but in the end…may the best singer win!

Tell us what you think. Would you like to see Glover and Holcomb duke it out in the season finale? Or would you rather see a different pairing? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it so sound off in the comments section and tell us all about it.

Am I happy that a woman will be winning this year again, finally? Absolutely, yes! Do I agree with the producers of IDOL? Absolutely not! As a fan and one of the voting American public, my choices have consistently been for Candace and Cree. They are the outstanding candidates in this competition. Ultimately, I believe that Candance has most gifted voice she deserves to win but I love both of these women’s styles for different reasons. Because of that, I’d like to see them in the finale. I only hope the rest of the American public sees it the same way.

I hope Candice Glover wins American Idol. Amber Holcomb is a good singer, but she CANNOT hold a candle to Candice Glover–none of the finalists can hold a candle to Candice’s singing talent!

A loud singer does not make a better singer. Overall, Amber is the better singer.

I disagree with Irene on Amber Holcomb. Amber Holcomb has more star potential than Candice Glover. Candice is a very great singer, but too wooden. Amber is like a polished diamond and is really the most gifted and talented singer in the competition. I agree with the producers that the competition should come down to Candice and Amber.

Candice and Amber split the vote. They are both R&B singers with Big voices. If Amber leaves (she is the one with the smallest fanbase) than Candice is in the final.

Looks like Kree has the most voters and Janelle and Kree to some extent split the Country vote. So if Janelle leaves Kree is for sure in the final if not the winner.

Angie is the dark horse. She can appeal to everyone. She needs to stick with her piano strength and become more genuine. If she does this she will be in the final two and could win this thing. She is the most marketable.

Candice is the best vocalist of the top 10. Although most of the time I feel like she overdoes most of her aongs but she proved me wrong with her rendition of “Love Song”.

Amber is one of the best vocalists of the top 10, if not the best. Although, she needs to understand the songs she is singing because she exhibits small emotion and singing with asich passion and emotion will surely earn you votes.

Angie is the dark horse of the competition. Her song “You Set Me Free” definitely stole the show for a while. She connects with most of the songs she sings and her style of music appeals to most of America. If she has another standout moment like in Hollywood Week, she can surely steal the show (once again). She has 4 weeks to steal the show and she can possibly beat front-runners like Candice and Kree.
