Yesterday, people all over the world were shocked to hear of the tragic bombing that took place at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Many shared their surprise and sadness with followers on Facebook and Twitter. Included in this group were American Idol figures such as Kellie Pickler, Nicki Minaj and Ellen DeGeneres. What did the celebs have to say about yesterday’s tragedy?
The Twitterverse is buzzing with constant updates related to the bombing that occurred at the Boston Marathon. Interspersed among these tidbits are users’ best wishes for those impacted by the attack. And several of these kind words were shared by none other than the stars of American Idol.
Controversial judge Nicki Minaj actually managed to tweet something that won’t be considered offensive to most viewers: “My heart goes out to everyone who woke up this morning to enjoy a peaceful marathon but were met w/senseless destruction.” If only she had this much respect while judging, maybe fans of the show wouldn’t be petitioning for her release.
Former American Idol and current Dancing with the Stars contestant Kellie Pickler also offered a sentiment shared by the masses — the desire for swift justice. Kellie tweeted, “Praying for everyone affected in the #Boston tragedy. Hope they catch the devil that did this. #MayJusticeBeServed.”
Onetime judge Ellen DeGeneres was encouraged by the fact that so many were quick to help others in the aftermath of the tragedy. She tweeted, “In a tragedy, it always moves me to see that the vast majority of people are good, and rush to help others in need.”
At Reality TV Magazine, we are also saddened by news of yesterday’s tragic bombing at the Boston Marathon. Like the celebrities mentioned above, we are keeping the victims and their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
