Dennis Rodman An FBI Informant? Former NBA Star Planning a Return to North Korea Despite Kim Jong Un’s Threats

April 16, 2013 06:13 AM by Shayla Perry

Recently, he was fired from NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice for misspelling Melania Trump’s name, but has Dennis Rodman taken a new job as an FBI informant?! The former NBA star made headlines after visiting his new bestie, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and now, despite the country’s volatile threats against the United States, Rodman says that he’s planning another trip to the country in August. Why? All the details after the jump.

People across the U.S. did a collective eye roll when former NBA player, Dennis Rodman returned from North Korea and told the press that the country’s Supreme Leader Kim Jon Un was “awesome” and “a good guy.” And just when we thought we were done with the lovefest, it appears that it’s only just beginning.

But is there another motive for the Celebrity Apprentice star’s actions?

Though Rodman admits that he was contacted by the FBI and asked “what went on and who’s really in charge in North Korea,” he isn’t officially on the agency’s payroll, so don’t expect any covert ops from the star on his next trip to Pyongyang.

Yes…his NEXT trip.

Despite the country’s recent threats against the United States, Rodman says that he plans on returning to North Korea in August. But don’t worry…he knows what he’s doing; so he says.

“I’m not a total idiot,” Rodman tells the Miami Herald. “I know what Kim Jong Un is threatening to do regarding his military muscle. I hope it doesn’t happen because America will take whatever actions to protect America and our allies.”

The pair don’t have specific plans for Rodman’s next visit, but he appears to be pretty confident in his ability to squash any tensions between the two countries.

“I’ve been talking to folks for years who don’t get what I’m about, but that’s cool ’cause once they walk away they like me,” says Rodman. “I might be able to keep folks’ heads cool. We all [are] going to find a way to get along and keep peace. Peace and love is where it’s at.”
