L.A. Ink star, Kat Von D and fiancé Joel Zimmerman, also known as Deadmau5 are planning a wedding for later this year. But don’t expect a traditional ceremony because it’s going to be anything but. Keep reading for more details.
According to People, following their December engagement, Von D and Zimmerman couldn’t wait to begin planning their wedding and looking ahead at their lives together. Von D explained, “Being with Joel is the only thing that feels more natural than tattooing.”
But not much will change after they say their ‘I Do’s’ because things are already great just the way they are. “Our wedding is merely a celebration of that love and commitment we live in already,” Zimmerman said.
Both Von D and Zimmerman share a mutual love of “The Call of Cthulhu,” a short story written by H.P. Lovecraft, about a creature that is half-man, half-octopus. Drawing inspiration from the story, Von D says her wedding will be the furthest thing from traditional. The lovebirds plan to tie the knot in an underwater-themed ceremony on Aug. 10 in Los Angeles before 200 friends and family members.
And what about the dress? Falguni and Shane Peacock are making Von D’s wedding gown and her husband-to-be is helping with the design. “It will have a sleek silhouette and include hints of iridescent teals, blues, and deep violet ombre gradients,” Von D said.
Join us in congratulating Von D and Zimmerman on their upcoming nuptials. And while you’re at it, tell us what you think about their underwater-themed wedding plans? Totally freaky? Or totally rad? We know you have an opinion so speak up and let us hear it by posting a comment below.
