Comedy fans were not laughing when D.L. Hughley was eliminated this week on Dancing with the Stars, but Hughley was relieved to get the boot. Meanwhile, his partner, Cheryl Burke knew they had no chance of winning, and she recently credited the fans for keeping them on the show as long as they did.
D.L. Hughley struggled from day one on Dancing With The Stars, so it was really not shocking when he was sent packing this week. Honestly, most of us had been expecting it for weeks now. Even Hughley himself revealed that he is actually relieved to be off the show, but went on to admit that he will miss Cheryl Burke.
Going into the show, Burke and Hughley knew there was no chance they would win the mirror ball, but Burke is thankful that they made it as long as they did, and she is certain she knows why – the fans! “Honestly, we made it halfway, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Obviously, our fans kept us in. It wasn’t our scores,” Burke told People Magazine.
And perhaps knowing that they were not going to win took some of the pressure off the couple, as Burke went on to reveal that this week was nothing but fun for the dance partners. Of course, we’re certain that dancing with a comedian definitely helped lighten up the harsh rehearsals.
