Earlier this week, we learned that former America’s Got Talent judge, Sharon Osbourne and longtime husband, Ozzy Osbourne had called it quits and were living apart. But were there signs of the impending split months earlier? Could Sharon’s January 911 call following a fire in her home have been a hint that there was trouble brewing between her and Ozzy? Keep reading for more details.
After their split, Ozzy took to Facebook and admitted he had been taking drugs and hitting the bottle for the past year and a half, which seems to be what led to the breakdown of his marriage. And while we’re not sure, if Sharon and Ozzy’s split is just temporary until Ozzy can get back on the wagon or if it’s permanent, there may have been hints of trouble as far back as January.
According to TMZ, Sharon called 911 at 4:45 a.m. on January 17 to report a fire in her house. She explained that a candle was left burning and that the table it was setting on had caught fire. She went on to say her husband had put out the fire but she would like a fireman to come out and make sure everything was okay.
But it’s what you can hear in the background on that 911 call that could be a hint trouble was brewing in the Osbourne home. Ozzy was talking but sounded incoherent. Was he boozing and using drugs at the time of the fire? And could Ozzy have been the one who lit the candle and left it burning?
Sharon said she was responsible for leaving the candle burning. But was that the truth? On Facebook, Ozzy said he had been sober for the past 44 days. If we count back, it’s possible he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the fire. So was Sharon actually at fault or was she trying to cover for Ozzy?
Tell us what you think. Did Sharon’s 911 tape hint at the impending split? We know you have an opinion so sound off in the comments and let us know.
