Ready For Love producer, Eva Longoria recently appeared on The Dr. Oz Show where she dished details about the state of her health following her divorce from former husband Tony Parker in 2011. What was going on with Eva’s health? You’ll have to take the jump to find out!
According to US Weekly, Longoria described the months following her split with Parker as bleak ones. She confessed, “I was not eating. My diet was coffee.” She was sad, depressed, and had gotten really skinny. But she didn’t categorize herself as depressed, which isn’t unusual. When you’re going through something as difficult as the struggle of divorce, you’re so low; it’s hard to recognize you need help.
Those around Longoria showered her with compliments saying she looked amazing and that divorce agreed with her, but they could not see what was going on inside. She had no energy and didn’t feel good; she didn’t realize she was suffering from depression. She thought it was just sadness over the breakup of her marriage.
But overtime, she realized it was more than just sadness and went to see her doctor. Her doctor did a series of blood tests that revealed her body was suffering from vitamin deficiency. She was depleted of every vitamin and that was interfering with her overall health. Due to a lack of iron, her liver was overacting. “It was like all these things were physically wrong with my body,” she said, “so I had to saturate with vitamins.”
The months following her breakup with Parker were truly a low point in Longoria’s life. However, going to the doctor was a wakeup call. And following that fateful visit, she decided to adopt a healthier diet, which helped her regain her energy and improve her overall health.
