American Idol Results Recap: The Top 3 Are…

May 02, 2013 05:59 PM by Lisa Princ

Last night on American Idol, the top four performed again, since there was no elimination last week. This week, the girls were mentored by Harry Connick Jr., and they took on “then and now” tunes. With the stakes higher than ever, we sure hope that you voted! So, who made the top three?

American Idol kicked off the top four results show – for the second time – with the the same ole same ole, aka a performance by the four. Ironically, they were singing Beyonce, who happens to be the buzz of the web today, for her insane tour demands! Oh yippee, David Cook is going to perform tonight – not sure about you, but that’s the highlight of my night!

Then it was time for Jimmy Iovine’s critique. Jimmy says that Angie had the tools to win the entire thing last night, but she didn’t do enough. As for Amber, Jimmy felt she did not do as well as she could have either, he doesn’t think she’s got the votes after last week. The resident expert feels that Kree did not perform up to her potential, while Candice nailed both songs – way better than the rest. Not sure I agree with all his critique, but definitely agree about Candice.

Woohoo, David Cook, season seven winner hit the stage with his new tune, Laying Me Low. Wow, David was sporting a new ‘do, not the same ole messy hair, but it was still the same hot voice! Not his best tune, but it wasn’t bad. And now it’s 8:30, no results…yet.

But it’s chock full of commercials as usual, shocking. And when Idol returns, its another performance…this time from Will.i.am. It was very cool, and old school, but we want our dang results, Ryan! After another break, we were definitely hoping for some results, but no! Instead, it’s another performance, arg. This time it’s Harry Connick Jr., last night’s mentor, who takes the stage. We love you Harry, but all we want are our results right now!

Finally, after a few words from Nicki Minaj, it’s time for the dang results! Angie Miller is the first lady who made the top 3! The second lady moving on to the top 3 is Candice Glover. That means either Amber or Kree will be sent packing.

Kree Harrison is deemed safe after the votes, which means that it’s the end of the road for Amber Holcomb! We’ll miss you Amber!

Did America get it right tonight? Are you happy with the top 3 results? We know you have an opinion, and we want to hear it! Sound off in the comments section below.

Wrong elimination again! i guess its now a racist show. Angie should have left and not Amber. totally disagree with this results. am not watching again. hope candice makes it fairly witout their usual rigging the votes.

Kree should be out, not Amber. Why do results have to be based on popular vote rather than judging from recognized music officionados? They should have the final decision. Beauty or flirtation ability which appeals to the general public is not a fair reflection of the contestants’ singing ability. Amber is young, and has a young voice but it is full of power and she definitely stays in tune, in time better than Kree. Arriba, ole, hurrah for Amber Holcombe. She has more star quality than Kree.

I don’t think that Amber Holcomb should go home I think Kree Harrison should

The fact that American Idol did not fire Nicki Minaj last night after she humiliated Mariah Carey shows that the show has no integrity. They let someone who is around the age of 25 go up and join the judges. I’ll say this once: AI never would have had problems this year if Nicki Minaj hadn’t joined everyone has had to suffer.

I agree with America, if we would have gone by Keith Urban Amber would still be there. I hope Candance and Kree r our final 2. Here’s a thought: who’s music would u like to hear on a CD? I love Candance but Kree is so versable in different ways, country, rock, blues etc..And that girl is going to be another Reba, or just be Kree, the girl that can sing anything

I think kree should of left . She just did not do well the last couple of times. Amber was way better than her. Amber do not have to worry she will get a record deal with someone. That the same thing that happen to Jennifer Hudson. Sometimes america do not know how to pick people.

i’m so sick of (i’m assuming african american people) making everything about race. yes, Amber is a great singer, but so is Kree, very difficult decision. in my opinion, i think Candice and Kree should be the final two. but come on America, it’s about talent, not race! and yes, Nicki Minaj has got to go; very rude and immature.

I think they got it right.
all the girls are talented, but if one had to go it should have been Amber. By the way, we dont know who was 1, 2, or 3. Ryan said there was no particular order, so it could have been Angie in 3rd.
