Former American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez was enjoying a day at the beach over the weekend before experiencing a nasty scare. What happened? She was on the video set of her new song, “Live it Up” when gunshots rang out. Keep reading for more details.
According to US Weekly, Lopez and fellow singer Pitbull were in Fort Lauderdale, FL. on Sunday, May 5 where they were filming a music video for her new song, “Live it Up.” Lopez and her crew spent the entire day on the beach having fun. Lopez flaunted her fit and tanned body in a peach swimsuit and splashed in the surf with some of her dancers and video extras. But the day was cut short when gunshots rang out.
At the time of the gunfire, Lopez was being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight correspondent Rob Marciano. Following the gunshots, Lopez’s security team leaped into action and rushed her to safety. Meanwhile, Marciano tweeted about the scary experience. “BREAKING: Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale beach DURING my JLo interview…no kidding…security scrambled her away,” he wrote on Twitter.
Marciano went on to say he could see and hear ambulances approximately 400 yards down the street and that police officers had confirmed shots were fired however, luckily, no one had been hit. While it is unclear, who was shooting or why, thankfully no one was shot or injured.
What do you think about Lopez’s scary experience? Do you think someone was shooting because they knew she was in the area? Or do you think it was just a random act? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it so sound off in the comments and tell us about it.
