Neil Patrick Harris might not know a ton about contemporary dance, as he proved during a brief sting on So You Think You Can Dance, but he sure does a nice job hosting the Tony Awards! Given this unique talent, it makes perfect sense that the beloved NPH has been chosen to host the awards show for a fourth time. What can we expect from our favorite host this time around?
If you’re a fan of Neil Patrick Harris, you’re in for a treat — you get to see him as the host of this year’s Tony Awards! It’s a choice that makes sense, for, unlike other awards ceremonies, the head honchos at the Tony Awards aren’t opposed to using the same guy year after year. Why not stick with what works?
Everyone was expecting a return of Neil Patrick Harris, because really, why would CBS get rid of a host who has proven so popular…and so amazingly competent (or at least, amazingly competent compared to the hosts of several other recent red carpet affairs)? But the decision was not made official until Neil announced the news himself in a recent statement. “I’m very excited to be back hosting the Tony Awards at the legendary Radio City Music Hall.”
In addition to breaking the exciting news, Neil showed off his math skills (or lack thereof), explaining, “It’ll be more impressive than ever—if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year. Oh, wait…carry the one… I’m awful at math. But rest assured, the show will rock!”
Do you approve of Neil Patrick Harris as host of the Tony Awards 2013? Or did you have a better candidate in mind? Sound off in the comments section below!
