Amy’s Baking Company: Online Meltdown In Aftermath Of Kitchen Nightmares Finale

May 15, 2013 02:00 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

The latest season of Kitchen Nightmares ended on a shocker with Gordon Ramsay actually leaving (not just threatening to leave) what appeared to be a hopeless case. A week later, Sam and Amy of Amy’s Baking Company are once again proving why their establishment is the biggest nightmare of them all.

It’s not often that Gordon Ramsay comes away from Kitchen Nightmares looking like a perfectly reasonable guy. But such was the case on the latest episode of the reality show, during which the owners of disaster restaurant Amy’s Baking Company absolutely refused to take any of what, for once, was surprisingly constructive criticism.

After a show of often perplexing and always obnoxious behavior from owners Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, Gordon Ramsay wound up getting so frustrated that he was forced to walk out and leave the show’s subjects to their own devices. This was a pretty shocking development, for usually, when Chef Ramsay walks out, he eventually ends up returning — either at the desperate request of a restaurant owner or, occasionally, of his own volition. This time he really did stick to his word and leave the establishment for good.

But the story doesn’t end there. As can be expected, Amy’s Baking Company has since received a ton of online attention, with angry customers (and likely several internet trolls) pummeling the eatery’s Facebook and Yelp pages. Angered by all the negative feedback, Amy and Samy decided to teach their haters a lesson. First, the owners accused the legions of angry customers of being “little punks” and “fools,” adding that, unlike their reviewers, the two had God on their side.

The next post was decidedly nastier, with either Amy or Samy upping the ante from “little punks” by threatening, “I will f***ing show you all.” And in yet another pissed off Facebook status, the owners used all caps while informing haters of the genius plan to teach their future child how to “fight against oppressors” such as those posting negative reviews on Yelp.

The best part is, in typical reality star fashion, Amy and Samy ultimately denied creating any of their “horrible” Facebook posts, explaining, “Obviously our Facebook, YELP, Twitter and Website have been hacked.” They also claimed to be working with local authorities and the FBI to ensure the perpetrator’s eventual capture.

This explanation might elicit a little more sympathy if millions of viewers hadn’t already witnessed Samy screaming even worse insults at his own customers. If there is a hacker, we’re assuming that many of the restaurant’s unhappy visitors (and legions of discarded staff) are hoping to pat him or her on the back.

What do you think of the latest Amy’s Baking Company drama? Are people being too hard on Amy and Samy? Or do they deserve any vitriol they receive? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!

Amy and Samy are complete and total whack jobs. That’s nonsense about their pages being hacked; they have absolutely NO class; and Gordon was right to leave and never return (and I’m not even a fan of Mr. Ramsay, but he was in the right this time).

Ok, I hope that the FBI has them both on their watch list because that sounded like a threat against all their customers. I would be afraid to eat there for fear of being poisoned.

It gets worse. The attension to their face book page as brought out many angry bloggers who, it turns out, own the pictures of deserts that they have pubished on their page. Many of them are demanding that the pictures be taken down because of copyright infringment and so far all the demands have been ignored. Ignoring things seems to be their buisness model I think.

Samy’s taking tips is flat out stealing. I hope the I.R.S. gets wind of this and they are prosecuted. Google Amanda Bossingham aqns you will see what I mean. Not a hater, just an observer.

I am not a person hiding behind my computer Amy like you said on the re visit from Kitchen nightmares and I have a big problem with the fact the if the person has an issue with the food you get mad at them instead of making it better or trying to fix it. I got some desserts to go and yes they were Ok(it was also before the episode aired) but I like eating at a place where the owners are not going to get mad at us if they find a fruit fly in their drink. Try to take some responsibility for your actions instead of blaming others and you might get some of your original customers back. No one is perfect and yes everyone makes mistakes…The tip thing is also morally wrong too but lets see how long you stay open but clearly you said Money is not an issue so I guess their was not need to call Gordan then.
