It was clear from the moment she stepped in front of the judging panel that Kree Harrison was someone special. But despite an impressive run on American Idol, the talented singer remains as humble as ever. When asked how she felt after making it to the final round, Kree was quick to admit her disbelief.
Can you believe that this season of American Idol is just about over? No? Well, neither can finalist Kree Harrison. The singer recently admitted to Billboard that she’s been ready for an elimination the entire season, even going so far as to pack her bags in preparation of what she assumed was the inevitable — heading home. After last week’s elimination episode, she confessed,”I thought at some point I’m gonna go home and I really felt tonight was it.”
That disbelief continued for Kree even after she had performed in the finale. Last night, she told MTV, that, upon finishing that extraordinary finale performance, her main reaction was still “Shock. Literally, I’m still speechless, I don’t know what to say about being the top two.”
That overwhelming sense of shock (tinged with plenty of gratefulness) also transcends to Kree’s Twitter page, where she recently thanked fans again for their continued support and acknowledged that, no matter the results, she’s had a great journey. “Last night was unbelievable. Thank u all so much for those who came AND those voted. I love u.”
Whether or not she emerges the winner, Kree should be proud of her wonderful performance in the American Idol finale and throughout the entirety of season season 12!
