During last night’s American Idol finale, Candice Glover was named the winner of season twelve. Today, the singer is still trying to process news of a victory three Idol auditions in the making. Does Candice have any post-Idol plans in the works?
Candice Glover may finally have accomplished her dream of winning American Idol, but as far as she’s concerned, her career in music is just getting started. In a post-Idol interview with Billboard, Candice admitted that she can’t wait to put together an album. Of course, first, she wants to get a little rest, because the American Idol process is absolutely exhausting. “ I don’t think I’m going to get the chance to sleep tonight but I’m going to try and sleep as much as I can and probably eat some chicken or something.”
Once she’s managed to sneak in her beauty sleep, Candice plans to set right to work on recording an album. And there’s plenty of work to do, for the only single the singer has recorded thus far is one of her victory songs from last night. But Candice isn’t intimidated by the amount of work she has waiting — she’s excited, for as she explains, “I know that I’m ready to work.”
Another dream Candice holds dear is that of working with one or more of her favorite singers. She already has had the opportunity to sing alongside Jennifer Hudson, but now, she’s hoping to spend a little time with Jazmine Sullivan or Aretha Franklin. And if she’d had the opportunity, Candice would have loved to perform with Whitney Houston.
