Miley Cyrus Swatted, Again!

May 19, 2013 08:35 AM by Donna W. Martin

American Idol guest mentor, Miley Cyrus recently hit the news because she had topped Maxim’s Hot 100 list. But now, she’s topping the news for being pranked. What happened? Miley is the latest in a long line of celebrities to fall victim to the swatting hoax. That’s right; Miley Cyrus has been swatted, for the second time! Keep reading for more details.

The first time Miley was swatted was in August of last year. Police officers rushed to her Los Angeles home after receiving reports of a possible home invasion and possible shots fired. But when they arrived, they quickly learned the whole thing was a false alarm. The house was completely quiet and nobody was even home.

And now it’s happening all over again! According to E! News, the Los Angeles police department responded to Miley’s residence on Friday night after receiving an emergency call. And again, when they arrived on the scene, they found the house quiet and nobody at home.

Swatting is a serious crime that endangers the lives of innocent people and wastes resources of the police department and other emergency responders. But Miley isn’t the only one to fall victim to this prank. Many other celebrities have been swatted as well including, Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Seacrest, Selena Gomez, Anderson Cooper, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Lamar Odom, and Justin Timberlake to name a few.

What do you think about Miley being swatted for a second time? Do you think the police will catch the person responsible? And what do you think should happen to them if they are caught? Should they go to jail? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it so sound off in the comments section and let us know.

Don’t know what others think but this is no laughing matter. If caught the perpetrators should get 15-20 years without parole. Think about people, you’re talking about the possibility of someone calling 911 because some thug has invaded their home and they are about to be killed and there is no one to respond to the call.

The police need to use 911 system to trace the call and charge the person for the false call. The person needs to pay the city the entire cost for the call and spend one year in jail with none suspended.

Not Miley’s fault for some Jackass making prank calls to the Police Dept. The Police should always respond to a 911 call and not treat the situation like the “Boy Who Cried Wolf”. Since this has happened more than once, is there not a proactive verification process? Perhaps call Miley direct before showing up to an empty and or properly occupied home?

Albeit, when caught, the prankster should be prosecuted to the fullest penalty of the law!!! If the government has the ability to trace and record the calls of the “Free Press” (AP scandle), Then the LAPD should be able to locate and arrest these petty scumbags…….

This is stupid because you aren’t pranking the celebrity that you make the call on, you’re pranking their local police department. Like it says here, half the time there isn’t even anyone home when they respond. This is just a waste of police time, plain and simple.

Of course the person(s) should be arrested and charged. Not only are they being a nuisance for the police and other emergency officers, they are potentially taking the attention away from people who might have serious situations going on, and making police and the other emergency officers drive out their way for no reason. I just don’t how the person(s) haven’t been caught yet, with all the high powered technology we have in 2013.

Her house is being SET UP for a home invasion, burglary, or some other devious.

After a few of these, the POLICE WILL BELIEVE TAHS ALL IT IS, WHEN IN REALITY IT WILL ACTUALLY BE SOMETHIMNG SERIOUS!!

SOMEONE ELSE IS “”CRYING WOLF”" AT HER HOME AND THE POLICE WILL BELIEVE ITS ANOTHER FALSE ALARM!!

I think some of the calling is done by their own PR people to get their name in the News. I feel this way because 90% or more of the time their not home. I also think before a swat team is sent a local PD should roll by in an unmarked car and check for signs of life. If at that moment there is a hint of a problem send in the troops. This may save tax dollars and discourage PR calls just to get in the paper because the buzz has slowed down.

How do you call the cops and not get caught? Do they not have caller ID or what?

Hope they find the people doing this. In case of real emergencies they are taking man power away.
