The Hills and Laguna Beach were responsible for launching a number of major changes in the life of Lauren Conrad — perhaps most significantly, turning a partier into a reality star. But according to Lauren, there have been a few downsides to the whole experience. The celeb says her voice has experienced a drastic alteration, all thanks to the massive amounts of time she spent partying in Los Angeles.
We’re sure you’re just dying to know why Lauren Conrad’s voice has changed so much since her early days on Laguna Beach. That is, assuming you’ve even noticed the difference in her voice. But according to Lauren, it is a noticeable change and it is worthy of our attention. During a recent interview with Marie Claire, the celeb explained that the altered sound of her voice was more than enough to convince her that being finished with reality television is a good thing. “I destroyed my voice when I moved to L.A. There are polyps all over my vocal chords because I was in a lot of loud places. If you listen to the first episode of Laguna, my voice is completely different.”
So, now that she’s decided to give her vocal chords a break, how is Lauren keeping busy? The reality star has been spending a fair amount of time with her boyfriend William Tell. Lauren feels that the relationship has really helped her become a better person — and that his background doesn’t hurt! “He is very good for me because we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up. It’s the first time I’m with someone and I’m not explaining things. He also has experience in the entertainment industry, so he understands a lot of things that people don’t always get.”
Ruined voice or not, it’s nice to see Lauren Conrad settling into a quieter and more comfortable life. Who knew it was possible?
