Josh Duggar Lands Lobbying Position With Family Research Council

June 19, 2013 10:26 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

It pays to be in reality television — and we’re not just talking TV royalties here. Josh Duggar of 19 Kids And Counting has made a point of capitalizing on his name in hopes of launching a career…and it looks like he’s succeeded! Once known simply as the eldest Duggar child, Josh will now make his mark as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council.

It’s clear that the family values subset of the conservative movement has been struggling greatly in the past few years. This diminishing influence is largely a result of overwhelming public perception that has labeled social conservatism as old and outdated. The Family Research Council is hoping to reverse this trend by bringing the popular reality television star Josh Duggar on as a member of its lobbying team. At only 25 years old, Josh is viewed as a potential voice for the next generation of socially conservative Americans.

Obviously, being named lobbyist for one of the more influential conservative groups in the nation is quite the accomplishment for a guy in his mid 20s. So Josh Duggar’s excitement is certainly understandable. In a recent statement, the reality star turned politician explained, “I’m very excited about joining FRC Action and working to promote the values that  have always been close to my heart and my family. In this capacity, I will be engaging the grassroots and taking the message of  faith, family and freedom all across America.”

Now that news of his new political gig is out, things are going to change quickly for Josh’s growing family. Josh, his wife and his three kids are all moving to Washington D.C., an experience that Family Research Council president Tony Perkins believes will serve as quite the “culture shock.” But members of the FRC have full faith in Josh’s ability to fit in, having offered effusive praise about his status as a “sharp kid.”

No. I don’t think Josh Duggar is a good idea to change the social values of American families. He is going to preach that people have a lot of children, but that is not a good idea. America does not need more strict rules in having families and more children is not a good idea. There are a lot of people who are not like them, and I believe in “free” choice in all matters for families. He is going to start to turn
American “backward” in beliefs that need to be “modern”. Why take us back to the “stone age”? I don’t see it working. Good Luck to him. Washington D.C. is a cruel place to work.

While I love the show and what his parents have accomplished, unfortunately it takes money, a lot of money, to raise 19 kids! I don’t care where you shop, and to lobby for conservative ideas for more children in this era is ridiculous. You will only place more people in a higher poverty level. I love kids and wish with all my heart that I could have had more, but at this time in America I am so thankful I didn’t because I wouldn’t be able to provide them with the basic needs they would need, besides love. For some reason poverty and lots of kids go hand in hand! You cannot eat or wear love.

I am not surprise that Josh is going to go in to politics. I am actually excited and thrilled that someone with morals and honor is stepping into the role where it seems thieves and liars dominate.
Go Josh!! Keep in God’s will and God will use you greatly!!

He’s pretty naive. His new boss and co workers aren’t so squeaky clean and he will probably either sink or swim because of them.
