La Toya Jackson Shares Memories On Fourth Anniversary Of MJ’s Death

June 25, 2013 10:55 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

It’s been four years since Michael Jackson’s untimely death, and for the pop star’s siblings, the mourning process is still underway. On the anniversary of her brother’s death, Celebrity Apprentice and Life with La Toya star La Toya Jackson took some time to remember a man she views as a great artist and even greater sibling.

Four years ago today, the world lost one of its greatest pop stars. The fourth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death has been marked by tributes from a wide array of fans and friends, as well as a touching memorial from MJ’s dad and sister. La Toya remembers a lot about her brother, but one of her chief recollections involves the hard work Michael’s dad invested in his son’s budding talent. “I remember being a little girl and how hard you worked the brothers. And Michael. I know you did a lot making sure they brought out their talent… they would never know they had that talent today if it wasn’t for you.”

Michael Jackson’s dad responded by confessing “one thing about Michael” that he felt La Yoya should understand: “I miss him so much.” But while his son is no longer here in a physical sense, Joe Jackson feels grateful that Michael’s music made such an impact on the world. “Every store I go into, if I’m there a while, he’s going to start singing. Everywhere I go.”

La Toya also finds herself constantly sensing her brother’s presence, although not exactly in the same way as her father. After confessing to hearing the ghost of Michael Jackson tap dancing in her house, La Toya visited a psychic in hopes of gaining some closure — and this visit is included on a recent episode of the celeb’s new reality show Life with La Toya. Donning a disguised, La Toya listens as the psychic tells her she is being visited by someone named Michael and that the spirit wants her to understand that, “It is okay to let go of him.” But as her recent lunch with Joe reveals, La Toya continues to have a hard time letting go.
