In the aftermath of a racism-related controversy, Paula Deen has lost one endorsement after the next. Although the celebrity chef remains in her fans’ good graces, she’s eventually going to want to sway the opinion of corporate leaders if she is to return to her position as the queen of homestyle cooking. And reality competition Dancing with the Stars could offer the celebrity chef the opportunity to do just that!
Paula Deen on Dancing with the Stars? Let’s face it — there’s been crazier contestants on the show in the past. And since DWTS has long shown an affinity for drama-inducing cast members, Paula would make a great addition to this fall’s lineup. She surely can’t be any more controversial than Bristol Palin, Kate Gosselin or Chaz Bono…and if she is, all the better for the show’s ratings!
Several media outlets have been predicting Paula Deen’s presence on the next season of Dancing with the Stars, but thus far, ABC is holding fast in its refusal to release any details. A representative for the network told E! News, “We don’t comment on casting until we officially announce.”
This is certainly not the first time Paula Deen has been slated as a possibility for DWTS. Rumors surrounded the celebrity chef’s participation in the competition prior to its 14th season. At that time, however, Paula still had a lot going on, what with her work on Food Network and her many endorsements. But that’s all changed and Paula just might be amenable to participating in a realities series with a more than reasonable payout…and an opportunity for improving her public image.
