Julianne Moore has played quite a few odd characters during her career, but none may have been as terrifying as the one she will be portraying in Carrie. In a new interview, The Marriage Ref alum and award winning actress dished on her upcoming role!
Julianne Moore is taking on one of her most terrifying roles yet – portraying Margaret White in the upcoming remake of Carrie, which is set to be out in October. In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, Moore dished about why her character is so scary. “It’s impossible not to be scary as this character. She is terrifying. I think any time you encounter a parent being cruel it’s terrifying and that’s the bottom line,” Julianne explained.
And Julianne Moore remembers the very first time she saw Carrie, back in 1976, when she was only 14 years of age. The actress recalls watching folks walking out of the theater looking pale from fear, but she went on to explain: “You spend the whole movie crying and it’s emotional, but you’re thinking it’s not very scary until you get to the end. I think it’s a seminal movie for all of us about adolescence.”
But portraying the terrifying character is not the only thing keeping Moore very busy these days. Julianne was also just announced as the newest face of Reed Krakoff, a premier line of clothing, shoes, and accessories.
