Lamar Odom May Be Returning To The Los Angeles Lakers

July 08, 2013 05:34 AM by Lisa Princ

It’s no secret that Lamar Odom was not thrilled when he was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers back in 2011, and even last year, he still had trouble remembering that he was no longer a Laker. Now, rumor has it that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star may be headed back to the team that he loves so much!

It’s been a crazy two years for Lamar Odom and his NBA career. Back in 2011, Odom was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to The Dallas Mavericks, where he was obviously not happy, but was then traded to the Clippers, where he showed a little more potential. Now, Odom is a free agent, and rumor has it that The Lakers are looking to get Lamar back on their team.

According to ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly reached out to Lamar Odom, who spent many seasons with the team before being shipped off to Dallas. But will Odom bite? Rumor also has it that Lamar will not be making what he once was, but keep in mind, Lamar has not been playing as he once did either.

Hmm, perhaps it is time for the NBA star to throw in the towel and retire? It’s not as if he and his wife, Khloe Kardashian desperately need the money.

It’s time for you to sound off! Do you think that Lamar Odom should head back to the Los Angeles Lakers? Or is it time for him to give up basketball? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it. Comment below to share your thoughts with us!

I think that Lamar Odom would be a great fit and the people in L.A. love him as a person and a great player. Kobe I think lost a friend when they traded him and with Paul and Odom and Nash back I think they can make a run at the title and when Howard left it was a great day for L,A.

The Lakers should not have traded him in the first place. Now they want him back. I , think he would be back to his old self…remember that he cried like a baby when traded…he loves the Lakers and Hollywood life. Come on , Odom, come on.

Lamar, stay with the Clippers if you can, remember the Lakers did not want you and felt like they did not need you or your services. Use your honor and pride get in the best shape of your life and help the Clippers or another team beat the Lakers.

He did’nt do anything for the Clippers so it would’nt hurt.He could go back to the Lakers and be a big part of what they need. It all depends what he is looking for in his basketball life. The Clippers really don’t need him.Do you want to sit on the bench or do you want to play while you still can?

Yes, he was great with my Lakers, and should be able to help them again. He hated the Mavericks — not surprising considering what lowlives the players, coaches, and owner involved with that team are. I live in Dallas, and must worship my Lakers from afar. I wish Lamar and the rest of my guys the best. Get well, Kobe!

The question is, has Lamar forgiven the Lakers? He did love being a Laker, so who knows.

Hip Hip Hoorah, Lamar Odom comes back to The Lakers. Great news as he will allow Kobe to shoot and Lamar plays Defense. The Lakers now with the addition of Center Chris Kaman and Lamar Odom are two former LA Clippers. Kaman needs to stay healthy, and Lamar Odom needs to come to camp in good shape. Now We need a shooting guard, point guard and Shooting Forward.

L.O asked to be traded so they did. I give that guy another go at it make sure u go 110 percent this time big mistake in trading him. I need u to average 10 points 10 rebounds 5 assist off the bench.

  24. Krys Says:

He is already at home, in LA, with the Clippers. The Lakers did him wrong before, so he shouldn’t go back just cause they are now desperate after making the wrong moves the last two seasons.

  25. Annette Says:
    July 8th, 2013 at 7:06 pm

He’ll go back. Based on his “personality,” he’s that kind of a guy–his ego doesn’t get caught up in that “pride” trap; he just wants to go (back) where he was and can be happy, with The Lakers. And, in return, The Lakers get back a good, but more importantly, “controllable” player.

Lamar should never have been traded and we hurt for him then. Lamar, if you can read this, please come back and trust me, it will be good for you and good for the Lakers!!

I think Lamar should come back to the Lakers because he was so freakin good when he was Lakers until he was in different teams that his stats have been coming down and I know he loves Lakers so much and he belongs with the Lakers. When I found out that he was traded to Mavericks from Lakers under Mike Brown when he was the coach, I was so pissed because Mike Brown just threw out the Sixth Man of the Year and he fits very well with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and all of his former teammates. If he do come back, all of our teammates would be back and our teams would start clicking and be on the same page. We would work as teammates and win that championship and showed that D12 that he makes his biggest mistake ever by choosing Rockets just because he wants Phil Jackson as a coach. D12 is so immature because doesn’t he know that Phil Jackson has a prostate cancer and cannot really coach at this time due to his health conditions. #lakers

I think Jim Buss should put his personal feelings aside about Phil Jackson and should consider what is the best coach for the Lakers. Doesn’t Jim Buss know that Lakers is an aging teams and cannot work very well with D’Antoni system because well D’Antoni have been the coach for the younger team who by the way did worked out very well because they fired D’Antoni and yet the Lakers re-hired him to be their coach?? Does Jim Buss think? Jim Buss should have considered what is best for Lakers and right now personally, Phil Jackson is the best coach for the Lakers because they are an aging team and his triangle offense system worked very well with the teams and he knows what it takes to be the champion and win the championship ring and trophy while D’Antoni doesn’t know what it takes to be THE COACH. Lakers should have hired him maybe as an assistant coach instead of him. If I were the Lakers president and for example I don’t like Phil Jackson, I would have at least hired Bernie Bickerstaff or Phil Jackson and put my personal feelings aside
