We’re sad to say that, following a brief period of improvement, Randy Travis’ condition has once again deteriorated. The former American Idol guest suffered a stroke last night and remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, country stars such as Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood are busy tweeting their support. He may have spent the past few years fighting personal demons, but Randy Travis has also maintained a large and very devoted fan base. Those fans are now rallying behind the singer as he battles viral cardiomyopathy, a severe heart condition that landed him in the hospital a few days ago. Since then, Randy’s fans have been busy tweeting their best wishes for the country crooner. Included in this following are several entertainers well known in their own right.
Carrie Underwood shared her hopes for Randy’s recovery early on in his hospital stay, tweeting, “thinking about my friend, @randytravis, tonight. Hope he gets better soon.” Keith Urban followed by sending “healing strength and love” to a fellow country star. In a similar vein, Scotty McCreery tweeted, “Praying for a great recovery for a true Country music and North Carolina legend!”
More recently, Kenny Rogers has joined in on the Randy Travis prayer effort, tweeting, “My thoughts and prayers are with @randytravis and his family.” This Twitter post also included a link to an Instagram picture featuring Kenny and Randy hanging out together at an awards show.
Randy is out of surgery now but remains in critical condition. Be sure to keep this country legend and his family in your thoughts and prayers — here’s to a speedy recovery!
