July 11, 2013 05:25 AM by Lisa Princ

It’s been an awful week for Country music crooner, Randy Travis, who has been in critical condition in a Dallas hospital after suffering from heart problems. Just when he started to show signs of improvement, the American Idol guest star then suffered a stroke and had to undergo emergency surgery last night!

45-year-old Country music star, Randy Travis has had one heck of an awful week, when he should have been busy touring. Instead, Travis was hospitalized on Sunday for heart troubles brought on by a viral infection, when Randy simply thought he was suffering from a cold. Tuesday, the singer was transferred to a heart hospital, where doctors implanted a device in heart to help with blood flow. Just as doctors were finally able to stabilize Travis, and he showed signs of improvement, we have now learned that he suffered from a stroke last night.

“As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis has suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on his brain,” Randy’s rep announced yesterday. Then later last night, a statement was issued that Travis was out of surgery, and once again in critical condition. “We will have updates as they become available. His family and friends here with him at the hospital request your prayers and support,” his rep added.

Poor Randy Travis can’t seem to catch a break. We sure hope he recovers quickly!
