Tara Reid Hoping For Sharknado Sequel

July 12, 2013 02:06 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

Against all odds, the Syfy special Sharknado has proven quite the hit, drawing in an impressive 1.4 million viewers. Will there be a sequel? Tara Reid sure hopes so, for a career in disaster films still beats out the misery of Big Brother!

Watch out world, for another Sharknado film could be on the way! The first one has clearly surprised by drawing an immediate cult-like following, a fact that has star of the show Tara Reid grinning from ear to ear. Last night, still nervous for the film’s Syfy debut, the actress tweeted, “I actually can’t wait for Sharknado it might be even better then Snakes on a Plane,” adding her hopes for an enjoyable audience experience.

It looks like Tara’s wish came true, for the Twitterverse is abuzz with praise for the disaster film. Tara later told TMZ that she was not expecting such a positive reception. “I’m just so glad that people saw the humor in it that I did … because it’s hilarious.” The celeb added that it was the unabashedly low-quality nature of the film that made it such a hit with audiences. “This movie was so ridiculous, you know? Like it’s almost so bad that it’s good.”

Crazed Sharknado fans will be glad to learn that Tara Reid would LOVE to participate in the creation of a sequel. It might not be the most lucrative project, but she clearly had a lot of fun filming the movie — and that’s what counts, right?

Did you see Sharknado last night? What did you think? Feel free to share your reaction in the comments section below!

I’d rather watch ‘Sharknado’ than the endless, pompous, pointless, hopeless and witless sequels, remakes and comic book rubbish churned out by Hollywood. I hope Tara gets her career back on track now!
