Tara Reid Stars In Hilariously Awful ‘Sharknado’

July 12, 2013 08:20 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

Tara Reid has suffered from a rather stagnant career as of late, even sinking to the level of using Big Brother as a means of getting back in the public eye. But the ploy may have worked, for the actress is achieving rave reviews for her appearance in the Syfy hit Sharknado.

You gotta love those Syfy feature films…you know, the ones that are so bad, they’re good. Sharknado promises to be exactly such a movie, featuring a disaster-film worth storm that conveniently delivers a horde of sharks to a tornado. And that tornado proceeds to rain down ferocious water beasts on the unsuspecting residents of Los Angeles. Yep, that is an air-tight plot!

Tara Reid stars in Sharknado alongside 90210 alum Ian Ziering. Although some celebs would view a stint on Syfy as a major low-point in their careers, Tara was actually pretty excited for the movie’s premiere. She tweeted, “I actually can’t wait for Sharknado it might be even better then Snakes on a Plane. Lol I hope you will have as much fun as I had.” Ian echoed that sentiment on his Twitter page with the following humorous post: “Sharknado: Hell hath no fury like a pissed Great White Shark that gets sucked out of the ocean and dropped in 90210.”

If you haven’t seen Sharknado yet, you just might want to check out the trailer that we have posted below. And when you’re finished, be sure to share your reaction (and whether you plan to tune in when Syfy airs a rerun) in the comments section below!

I love these SyFy channel flicks. hey are usually campy and don’t try to take themselves seriously. It’s just simple entertainment without trying to be preachy. No message (or real plot) here, just sharks falling from the sky and biting heads off. You gotta love it.

In a society that has so many of those stupid reality shows, this movie cannot be any worse than those. Actually they should have combined the sharks falling from the sky and Jersey Shore, so the sharks could have eaten all the morons on the show. There has always been a market for bad grade b movies, they provide a laugh or two. I remember the old Godzilla flicks set in Tokyo. I was a kid and I loved them. I saw part of this movie and it was as expected, dumb as hell, but dumb in a funny sort of way. Jersey Shore is just dumb, in a pathetic sort of way. All those fake and bake wanna be stars. America actually thinks it’s worth watching? Yikes, how far our culture has fallen.

If they said it was a comedy they might have a good movie.

Will this movie create negative public perception of sharks like Jaws did?
