Jay Z And Beyonce Attend Trayvon Martin Rally In New York City

July 22, 2013 05:41 AM by Lisa Princ

It’s no secret that Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z have very strong feelings about the Trayvon Martin case, as both have been very vocal on social media lately about the tragedy. So it was really no surprise to fans when the American Idol guest star and her husband showed up at the recent rally for Martin in New York City.

Being a parent definitely gives you a different perspective on things, and that is exactly why Beyonce and Jay Z feel so strongly about the Trayvon Martin case. The pair attended a rally in NYC this weekend honoring Martin, where they stood alongside Al Sharpton.

Sharpton announced Jay Z and Beyonce to the crowd as “two of the baddest artists of all time,” and went on to let fans know that neither of the singers showed up to speak or pose for photos, but to simply stand up for what they believe in. “Jay Z told me, ‘I’m a father. BeyoncĂ© is a mother.’ We all feel the pain and apprehension. The laws must protect everybody, or it doesn’t protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children,” Sharpton told the crowd.

Beyonce recently dedicated a moment of silence during her concert for Trayvon, as well as shared a link on Twitter asking fans to sign a petition for Martin. Meanwhile, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake recently dedicated a tune during their concert to the slain teen, telling the crowd: “This is for Trayvon, so light up your cell phones New York!”

Trayvon Martin was a punk and a thug. He was not the sweet 12 year old the media kept ahowing pictures of. He was an aggressive 17 year old serving a suspension from school for possession of marijuana when he got into it w/ George Zimmerman. He was a fighter who could hold a grudge. All these black celebrities who show up to these Trayvon rallies are doing is showing off their racism. Why don’t they all focus more on the rampant black on black violence in inner cities rather than such an isolated incident? This whole thing shows what lemmings and rubes the media gets to use to further its agenda.

Meanwhile their good Kayne West assaulted a person for getting into his space trying to take his picture and ask questions he didn’t like for that Kayne thinks he has the right to put his hands on someone..While George Zimmerman was defending himself from being beaten to death
