One Direction Releases Wacky ‘Best Song Ever’ Music Video

July 23, 2013 12:32 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

Best Song Ever or strangest music video ever? The new hit from One Direction just might qualify for both! Whether you love the new single or hate it, one thing is certain: this boy band has come a long way since its time on The X Factor.

One Direction never struggles to gain YouTube hits, thanks to its extremely dedicated tween fan base. The band has clearly achieved yet another huge hit, a reality that quickly became evident less than 24 hours following the single’s release. Already, the music video for Best Song Ever boasts well over 10 million hits and the buzz surrounding the hit doesn’t appear to be slowing down!

The Best Song Ever video differs a bit from other One Direction YouTube sensations, in that it allows the guys to show off their wild sides. Well, as wild as you’re going to get for a boy band that markets primarily to the preteen crowd. During the course of their video, the guys dress up as several different characters, including, surprisingly, a secretary outfit that required quite the drag ensemble.

Thus far, the stars of One Direction are blown away by the enthusiastic response to Best Song Ever.Really, their modesty is a bit shocking, given the title of the song. Band member Niall Horan expressed his gratitude for the excellent reception via Twitter: “Wow the response to BSE and the video is incredible! Thank you very much! Glad you’re happy!”

We’re sure you’re just dying to see the Best Song Ever music video (or, as fans have dubbed it, the Best Music Video Ever), which is why we’ve posted it below! Check it out and tell us what you think!
