We all know that there is a certain element of reality competitions that reflects anything but reality. But according to one angered show choir, pretty much everything to do with The X Factor involves staging of some sort. What accusations did the show choir launch at Simon Cowell and his cohorts?
Few X Factor rejects have anything nice to say about Simon Cowell, so we weren’t particularly surprised to hear that yet another batch of singers is complaining about the reality show judge. But a show choir otherwise known as H20 is not simply displeased with Simon — they’re angry at pretty much everyone involved in the production of The X Factor. According to members of this group, the entirety of the competition is rigged. And they claim that it was all rigged against them!
H20 tells TMZ that, based on the original plan for the show, they were to perform the Fun. hit Some Nights in front of the judging panel. But apparently, producers told the choir that their chosen song was not approved. This news did not come until the last minute, forcing the group to scramble for alternative material.
Once they had finally chosen a Florence + The Machine song, H20 proceeded to attempt a hastily thrown together performance. They didn’t get far, as Simon cut them off and berated the group for not wearing their school uniforms. Problem is, the members of H20 had already been told they weren’t allowed to wear those uniforms.
H20 has demanded an apology from The X Factor, but it doesn’t look like they’re ever going to receive one. A rep for the show told TMZ, “The group had the chance of performing two songs for judges. The judges didn’t think they were good enough to move forward in this competition.”
For once, we think we’ll have to take Simon’s side — a previous video proves that, even when sufficiently rehearsed. H20 isn’t all that amazing. Check it out for yourself and then tell us where you fall: Team X Factor or Team Show Choir?
