After falling flat with his last album, Robin Thicke decided to take a different approach with his new album, but he was never expecting a mega hit to emerge from the album. In fact, the Duets judge is still surprised by the success of his chart topping single, Blurred Lines!
Robin Thicke’s latest single, Blurred Lines has been creating quite the buzz since it was released, from controversy to topping the charts for nearly two months. And while Thicke was definitely going for a different feel with his new album, one thing he never expected was a monster hit, which is exactly what Blurred Lines has become. “We felt like maybe it was something special but it was so different, but we never expected it to get this big,” Thicke revealed in an interview recently.
And the song that many call the song of the summer for 2013, seems to be getting bigger by the minute. In fact, according to the record label, Interscope, the song has made history. In a press release, the label claims that Blurred Lines has: “already broken the record for the highest radio audience ever recorded. As of this week, the track has reached more than 242.65 million listeners.” Personally, I don’t get what all the hype is about, there are much better tunes on the radio, in my opinion.
Thicke’s album, also titled Blurred Lines hits stores in a few days!
Now, it is your turn to sound off! Do you love Blurred Lines? Or is it corny? Is it, as some critics claim, the ultimate summer song of 2013? Or do you feel that the hype is undeserved? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear from you. Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
