Arsenio Hall is gearing up to make his return to late night television, which is set to take place in September. But after being away from the late night scene for nearly 20 years, how is NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice winner going to keep up with all the other shows out there?
Arsenio Hall is making his return to late night television on September 9, but this time, he won’t be sporting shoulder pads or big hair, like his last gig, which ended nearly 20 years ago. But with so many other shows on, how is Hall planning on holding his own? “I know that not everybody has a late-night host,” Hall recently explained to the media at Television Critics Association, when asked about competing with the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman, and Jay Leno/Jimmy Fallon.
Arsenio insists that he is still the same fun host that he was way back then, again minus the big hair and shoulders. As for his plan of attack, Hall went on to add: “You just want to offer a good, fun show and you’re serving a unique personality that’s not there so that you’ll just be in the game.” And executive producer of Hall’s show, Neal Kendall, feels that The Arsenio Hall Show could very well be the best place on late night for musical performances, and to hear the performers chat for a bit as well.
