Robin Thicke sure is the talk of the web lately, thanks to his controversial hit, Blurred Lines. However, the Duets judge recently stated that his lyrics were misconstrued, and now his mother is coming to his defense as well!
Blurred Lines is being called the song of the summer by many, while others think the lyrics have a “rapey” feel to them. As the song is blowing the charts away, Robin Thicke recently spoke out claiming his lyrics are misconstrued, and now his mama is backing him up! Coming to Robin’s defense, his mother Gloria Loring told WHOA recently that she feels the lyrics are innocent, and most of the video ideas came from the director (who happens to be a woman), adding: “You’ve got to blame the girl director for a lot of that stuff…I find it very funny.”
Thicke’s mother went on to say that she knows her son has a playful side, and the lyrics were written from more of self-depreciating perspective. “They were poking fun at how guys look at young girls and go, ‘Oh, she wants me,’” Loring continued. Whether you love the song or not, one thing is undeniable – it has become a mega hit, and Robin’s mother could not be prouder of her son, who she insists worked very long and hard on creating the hit song.
Personally, I can’t stand the song and do not get what the big deal is. What do you think?
Now, it is your turn to sound off! Do you love Blurred Lines? Or do you feel that the hype is undeserved? Will you be purchasing the album? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear from you. Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
