Yesterday, we were saddened to report the death of Bachelor and Bachelor Pad alum Gia Allemand. The reality star is believed to have committed suicide, leaving loved ones in shock. Former Bachelor Jake Pavelka is particularly shaken by news of the tragedy.
It’s never easy hearing that someone you care about has died and such news is even more difficult if you and the deceased individual shared a complex relationship. Such is the case for Jake Pavelka, the reality show star who ultimately wound up rejecting contestant Gia Allemand. Although he was unable to give Gia that iconic Bachelor rose, Jake really was quite fond of her. And given this fondness, it’s no wonder the celeb found himself pulling and crying after he heard of Gia’s death.
Jake later took to Twitter to express his grief. ”I am in complete shock and devastated to hear the news about Gia.” He went on to describe the fallen reality star as “one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And a very dear friend.”
“Sweet” appears to be a popular term for describing Gia Allemand. Former Bachelorette star Ed Swiderski also used this adjective, explaining, “Not only was [Gia] a beautiful person, but she was super sweet.”
Although this tragedy has certainly shocked and saddened Jake Pavelka and everyone else involved in The Bachelor, it’s even more devastating for those closest to Gia. Jake tweeted, “My heart goes out to her family during this very difficult time. We have lost an angel today.”
Our deepest condolences go out to Jake Pavelka and all the other Bachelor and Bachelor Pad alums as the grieve the loss of a beloved costar.
