Last night’s season four premiere of Duck Dynasty was an overwhelming success, with nearly 12 million viewers tuning in to see their favorite redneck clan. But is life among the Robertsons anything like what we see on our television screens? According to Jessica Robertson, the answer is a definite yes!
Critics of reality television like to argue that such shows portray anything but reality. But Jessica Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame says that, despite the presence of cameras and people recognizing her family in the street, her everyday life really isn’t all that different than her reality television life.
Jessica answered a number of fans’ most pressing questions during a recent live chat. Although many of her answers were really not all that surprising (we’re glad to hear that Jessica doesn’t eat squirrel brains, but we’re not shocked to learn that she enjoys the rest of the squirrel) there were a few gems among the Duck Dynasty wife’s many responses. For example, although it’s easy to assume that the Robertsons simply play up their wackiness for the camera, Jessica says that her family’s antics ensure that there’s never a dull moment — and that they always “keep it interesting.”
For the most part, Jessica’s life is the same now as it was before all the Duck Dynasty fame. If there’s one change that she’s noticed in the aftermath of the reality show’s success, it’s one of not having enough hours in the day. She told fans that the biggest difference she’s noticed is that, given the rigorous filming schedule, she now has “less time to spend with friends.”
