In the aftermath of Bachelor and Bachelor Pad star Gia Allemand’s suicide, the big question among fans, friends and family members is…why? Several of Gia’s reality television friends speculate that insecurity and depression may have been to blame.
From the outsider’s perspective, it seemed like Gia Allemand had the perfect life: budding television career, an athlete boyfriend, a beautiful face. And while few fans suspected that the star was battling depression the entire time she was in the public eye, it appears that the very insecurities she worked so hard to hide ultimately led to her tragic demise. Gia’s friends say that, although the reality star was a lovely person, she definitely faced her fair share of demons.
Close friend and Bachelorette star Reid Rosenthal confesses, “I could tell there was some insecurity going. Nothing surprises me anymore. I don’t know what she needed out of life. It’s sad.” And although he understood that Gia often felt insecure, Reid says that he never suspected his friend would commit suicide. Thus, the tragic news came as a complete shock. “The last I heard we were supposed to be at an event this Thursday together.”
In spite of all these personal struggles, Gia’s boyfriend Ryan Anderson says that the celeb was truly an amazing person. In a recently release statement, he explained, “Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out, and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile.”
We wish Ryan, Reid and the rest of Gia’s loved ones peace and healing as they continue to grieve for a wonderful woman.
