Remember Justin Guarini? The curly-haired guy who lost to Kelly Clarkson during the first season of American Idol? It appears that the singer’s career has not been nearly as successful as that of his Idol champion counterpart. That being said, Justin is eager to refute rumors suggesting that he’s broke as a joke.
Fans were pretty worried about American Idol alum Justin Guarini when they read a blog post about what appeared to be dire conditions. Perhaps in an attempt to let the public know that the life of a musician is not always easy, Justin said that he had “spent days skipping meals in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children, and my wife have enough.”
Skipping meals is just one of many sacrifices Justin says that he’s made. He’s also made a few changes in his transportation setup. “There was a time when I would have had a car service drive me from my home to work. Now I drive myself to the station and take the train.”
Taking a train instead of a car service is not too huge of a sacrifice, but skipping meals would obviously be reason for concern. But following plenty of buzz on the Twitterverse, plus several news stories covering his supposed financial predicament, Justin took to Twitter to put a stop to what seem like very justified rumors. “Obviously you completely missed the point of my letter @peoplemag. News isn’t news anymore, and I’m nowhere near poverty.”
Glad we’ve got that little fallacy cleared up. But really, what did Justin expect people to think when he claimed to be envious of those who know where their next meal is coming from?
Do you think Justin Guarini makes a valid point in his criticism of People Magazine? Sound off in the comments section below!
