The infamous Taylor Swift-Kanye West VMA incident took place nearly four years ago, so you’d think the two would be capable of letting it go. But as Kanye told Keeping Up With The Kardashians momager Kris Jenner during today’s interview, that’s a situation he wishes he’d never created.
Kanye West is still catching flack for the infamous 2009 VMA upstaging of Taylor Swift. You know, the one where he goes on a rampage about how Beyonce should have been the victor. Taylor is just as unable to drop the issue as the rest of us, having most recently brought it up while giving Ed Sheeran a truly touching gift — a jar of jam labeled, “Yo Ed — I’m really happy 4 you and I’m gonna let u finish, but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME.”
Taylor Swift is not the only celeb in recent history to poke fun at the VMA incident. Kanye West also brought it up while chatting with Kris Jenner on her daytime talk show. He was in the midst of explaining how fatherhood had changed him when he mentioned the fiasco. “The last thing I would want to happen to my daughter is some crazy drunk black guy in a leather shirt to come up and cut her off at an awards show. That’s the last thing I’d want.”
We’re glad that Kanye West finally sees the error in his ways. Now, if only he can learn from past mistakes and not cause an uproar at the 2013 VMAs, we’ll know he’s made some progress!
