It’s the event Millennial women have begged for for since their favorite boy band broke up over a decade ago: an N’ Sync reunion. Rumors suggest that such an occasion could occur in the near future, but Dancing With The Stars alum Joey Fatone says it’s not gonna happen.
A new Twitter account, Joey Fatone’s New York arrival…All signs point to an ‘N Sync reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards. But Joey is still insistent on denying the rumors. Approached by TMZ for insider info on the upcoming boy band performance, Joey told a series of what many are assuming to be bald-faced lies. For example, the reason he’s in NYC at the moment? A simple trip to Staten Island to visit his cousin and throw a “surprise birthday party.”
But TMZ wasn’t about to fall for the cover story, continuing the prying until Joey proceeded to flat-out deny all rumors of an ‘N Sync performance at the VMAs. He says the rumors started flying when the media caught wind of Justin Timberlake’s impending Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award that this year’s awards show. Now, apparently, Joey is receiving constant calls at all hours of the day from those curious about his supposed VMA performance. But he says that he’s never received word of this performance and, what’s more, he won’t even be attending the ceremony.
We don’t really want to believe Joey’s little story, and, thanks to a Radar Online interview with his dad, we might not have to. Joseph Fatone Sr. says that ‘N Sync is “doing a performance….I think it’s exciting.”
